For Funerals

A new way to preserve the body until the farewell

Many bereaved families say they will never forget the face of their loved one the last time they saw them.

That is why we believe it is important that the final meeting becomes a beautiful memory.

DENBA technology eliminates the need for dry ice and embalming and allows the body to be preserved for a long time in a natural, lifelike condition.

Thanks to this technology, the complexion remains natural and foundation applies smoothly, enabling a viewing with a beautiful appearance.

The storage environment also features sterilization and deodorizing functions, ensuring hygienic preservation.

It supports long-term preservation, helping to ease the burden of scheduling due to shortages of funeral facilities.

Future Projections of Global Deaths

According to Our “Our World in Data”, both the world population and the number of deaths are expected to increase in the future.

As a result, the social demand for body storage and care is expected to rise further, and enhanced facilities for peaceful farewells will be increasingly needed.

“Our World in Data” is a non-profit online publication affiliated with the University of Oxford that publishes data on global issues humanity faces, such as diseases, hunger, global warming, wars, disasters, social inequality, and poverty.

During the COVID-19 pandemic starting at the end of 2019, it became one of the leading sources of global statistics on the spread of the disease.

Shortage of Funeral Facilities

Case of Japan

In Japan today, the number of annual deaths is increasing year by year, and in some areas, crematorium capacity is failing to keep up.

In 2022, the number of deaths was approximately 1.57 million, about twice the number in 1989. Furthermore, the number of deaths is expected to continue rising, peaking at around 1.67 million in 2040, raising concerns about chronic waiting times for cremation.

One of the main causes of cremation delays is this increase in deaths. With Japan's aging population, currently about one in four people is aged 65 or older, and this demographic shift is expected to drive further increases in deaths.

A particularly serious issue is the shortage of crematoriums in densely populated urban areas. In some regions, waiting times for cremation range from four to five days, and during busy periods, waits of around ten days have been reported.

During these waiting periods, it is essential to have appropriate storage and preservation environments to prevent decomposition or deterioration of the bodies.

To cope with the expected future increase in deaths, the introduction of new preservation technology by DENBA is expected to play a significant role in reducing the mental burden on bereaved families and ensuring sanitary management at facilities.
